The Adventure Begins - Part 10 Planning a Coastal SUP Journey

The Adventure Begins

Inform the nominated shore based person that you are setting off. (Remember to tell them when you return)

Remind yourself and the group of the route, any hazards, features and timing considerations.

Remember to actually take your dry bag. I have only left mine on the beach once (OK twice).

Along the journey continually refer to your map and route plan, time yourself, tick off the features and continue to read the sea state and conditions.

With luck the ducks will have aligned and you will be out enjoying your Coastal Experience, smiling gratuitously, proud that all that great planning has delivered you a memorable adventure and feeling lucky that there are many more to plan.

Seal Encounter - Seal Grabs a Leash

It's always a privilege to spot a seal, behaving naturally in their own environment, moving effortlessly.  It's even more special when these wild animals are curious and playful, investigating us on Stand Up Paddle Board Tours.  This one may have crossed the line a little when it grabbed my leash and in this video looks like it wanted a taste of this one too.

If you are interested in seal spotting by SUP and joining one of our SUP Tours find out more here.
